The government of Ambrosia controls everything: what you are allowed to eat, what you are allowed to drink, what your occupation is going to be, who your life partner is going to be, and whether or not you are going to be allowed to reproduce. Of course some people have more control over their lives than others. Often skill set had a lot to say about it, but for a top-notch fighter pilot like Lydia Greer, her life had never involved choices. Everything had always been decided for her, until one day she made a decision for herself. A decision that sent her entire world hurling out into space on a nonstop collision course with disaster. The results of which caused her to constantly question what day was it, what lunar cycle was it, how many hours there were in the day, what planet was she on, was she 29 or 33? These were not questions she ever thought she would have to ask, and for somebody like her they should be easy to answer, but they were not. It must be her slowing wits. After all, being permanently grounded and surrounded by former enemies would take a toll on any pilot, but were they really enemies and was she really grounded? Had she just lost her nerve, or did she never really have it?
