Today had not gone as Lee Goodman had expected. He had expected a quick flight from Norfolk, Virginia, home to D/FW, Texas, but apparently the airline and the weatherman had something else in mind, and now he found himself sidelined at the Little Rock, Arkansas airport. Fortunately for him, the Marines had taught him to adapt and overcome, so he changed his plans and rented a car, but before he had a chance to get going, something caught his attention. A young sailor he had seen back in Norfolk, sitting reading a book. The sight immediately touched his soul. He did not know why, but he knew she was a lost soul returning home, sitting there in the airport, surrounded by her meager possessions, two duffel bags and a cardboard box. He smiled. Fortunately for her, even an old Marine had not forgotten the cardinal rule, no man left behind.

The Fight for Freedom
ISBN-13 : 978-1944174835
On Friday, January 2, 2189, the senior officers of the American Eagles, an underground group of rebels, meet to discuss the upcoming wedding of two of their greatest rivals, an alliance they cannot allow to form, and how they're going to stop it. From their current location it would be impossible for them to gain access to Nicholas Moore, the son of the current head of The Western Rocky Mountain Coalition Joanna Moore; so it was decided their only opportunity was to go after Princess Kennedy, the daughter of King Titus Jamison of the Eastern Democratic Union, and to stop this marriage by any means necessary.

Lenore Stevens does not know who she is, where she's going, or what she's doing. All she knows is she does not want to be where she is, which probably explains why she's got nothing except the clothes on her back and one small backpack. She's also getting a little tired of every time she turns around somebody is giving her advice. Sadly, it always amounts to the same thing, go home, which is easy for them to say. There's just one problem, she does not have a home to go home to. But when a waitress at a diner tells her to go back to her roots, it starts her down a different road that leads her to the middle of nowhere Texas to find out exactly who she is and where she belongs.

Five Star - Mrs. Lindmark does a remarkable job of creating characters with heart, flaws, and dimension. She also does a phenomenal job at driving a story along at a good pace without being bogged down with over describing a scenario. Some of the characters in this story can be a little abrasive, however, if you understand why they think that way, then a reader can understand why the characters act the way they do. Well done, Mrs. Lindmark, well done. Kindle Customer
An Accident of Faith
ISBN-13: 978-1944174477
Rachel prayed to God to be delivered from her problems. This was not a new prayer. She had been praying for deliverance for as long as she could remember. She was a woman of faith and she believed that God had everything planned perfectly. All that was left for her to do was to serve God and her fellow man to the best of her ability. Her chief responsibility was raising her little brother Samuel to be a good and obedient servant of God, and right now she just felt that was impossible in Atlanta. It had become so overcrowded, with a nasty, criminal element creeping in. So she had prayed about it and discussed it with her neighbors and it was decided all that was left for her and Samuel to do was to go out West and find their uncle, but this only created more problems. Could they even find him as his last known address was over eight years old? And what would they do if they could not?

Five Star - In this case, yes. One of the characters in this book (to me) has no redeeming qualities. Mrs. Lindmark does a fabulous job creating this character. This character may not "physically" be through out the book, however, the lasting effects of this character last all of the way through. This is a great book in which the main character travels a long road to shake the lasting effects of her father's zealot behavior. She has many hard decisions to make in a short time, however, she does find that she is a strong person and can handle what life brings. Kindle Customer

The Kith
ISBN-13: 978-1944174217
Felicity had struggled hard to prove herself worthy of the title Kith. She had learned everything her father had demanded of her, reading and writing, battle strategy, swordsmanship, archery, hunting, survival, how to lead men, etiquette, needlepoint, and flower arranging. He had demanded of her not only to be the perfect daughter, but the son he never had. She had thought she had done a good job, at least until the day Colonel Malcolm Dewhurst took over as the head of the Palace Guard and declared her a worthless swordsman who was more likely to hurt herself than anyone else. To make matters worse, her stepmother declared her utterly hopeless as a female. All this she had endured with a smile, but now here she was on the brink of her twentieth birthday facing her greatest failure ever.

Dear Reader;
I would like to take this opportunity to explain how this book came into existence. After I was finished with my first novel, A Solitary Stone, I asked my husband if it was a movie what rating would he give it? He said low PG-13. I was a little disappointed by this, so when I was writing my first romance novel, Save Haven, I was shooting for an R rating. When my husband was finished reading it, he informed me it was purely PG-13. This again disappointed me. My husband informed me that all of my books were wonderful and that he greatly enjoyed reading them, but he just didn't think I had the kind of personality capable of writing an R-rated book. Needless to say, challenge accepted. So when I sat down to write the post apocalyptic story I had in mind, Second Age of Darkness, I was determined to prove my husband wrong like any stubborn female. I succeeded. On my husband's rating scale, he rates it NC-17. But I would also like to let you know, that it is not my normal type of story. It was written for a purpose for which it succeeded. Though the story is excellent, it is incredibly dark. I think by the end of chapter 1, you will have a very good idea of how dark it is. If some of chapter 1 is too much for you, I highly recommend you not go any further. Now, all of that having been said, consider yourself warned and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Yours respectfully,
Diane E. Lindmark
Prologue
"The beginning of the end began February 18, 2066. Though we remember the day it all began; who actually started it, no one remembers. I guess it's not important anymore, since none of those countries exist anymore. One country attacked another. They retaliated. A third-party got hurt in the process, so they retaliated, and before anyone knew what had happened, the world's governments had each used their biggest and their most deadly weapons. For some countries, that was nuclear weapons. Though, of course, I don't know what that is, but I do know that they were bad and they damaged the earth … Some countries used chemicals that only kill the inhabitants, but left the structures intact. Others used napalm; that I do know what it is, it's a kind of chemical fire that burned everything it came in contact with without mercy. This horrible, horrible war that consumed the whole world raged for more than twelve long years and it finally came to an end; not because anyone won, but because everyone lost. Our governments, they no longer had soldiers to send to attack, no longer had weapons to use. Just out of the blue on July 11, 2078, the fighting stopped; though the fight for survival was only beginning. So much of the ground was damaged, it was very difficult to grow crops." Lorna squeezed her son tightly against her. "And as you know, what our governments did to the air and the soil did not just make it difficult to grow plants, but also have children. Many people found themselves unable to produce children. Many children were born with problems; others were born …" Lorna leaned down and caressed her son's cheek "… special. That is why when your ancestor found this place where the soil was still relatively undamaged and the air was fresher and cleaner; he decided that our people needed to stay here. Those who chose to follow him settled down and started building a new life for all of us here. And as you know, it's only been now in the past fifty years or so that our harvests have been more plentiful; and that is why, my sweet, sweet bairn, when you are King, you must be a better King than those of old. You must take care of and protect your people as your ancestors have done before you."
